About Candace Kirby, Registered Professional Counsellor

"Sanctuary for the Heart" was born out of my own desire to experience freedom in this lifetime and to support others to do the same. It has become very clear to me that personal transformation work is our most valuable offering to the world. We can change our world but we must do it from the inside out...it really is the only way.

I have been providing counselling and support to individuals, couples and groups in various capacities for over 20 years. My training includes a Diploma of Counselling Practice, Hospice and Crisis Line support, Parents in Crisis training, Reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique and most recently The Work of Byron Katie. I have over 15 years experience facilitating groups and teaching meditation and self-awareness workshops. I have worked directly with Gary Zukav and an organization called, Genesis: The Foundation for the Universal Human where I co-created and facilitated several programs based on Gary's bestseller, "The Seat of the Soul".

Along with a private practice I also facilitate several groups each year including: Awareness, Awareness, Awareness; Meditation and the Art of Allowing Everything to be as it is; Discover the Mystery Within; Kids Now; There is Stillness and The Work of Byron Katie.

I have had the honor of being coached and mentored by many great teachers of whom I am eternally grateful, but the greatest teacher of all has been Life itself. I know that whatever is happening in my life is an opportunity for liberation. No exceptions. This is the miracle and the invitation of our lifetime - freedom. Absolute freedom. Wherever you're at you're on the right path. It has been my experience that there is nothing that cannot be transformed when met with genuine understanding. Even the most hardened aspects of our personalities will soften and yield to something far greater when met with kindness and compassion. It is my privilege to sit with people this way and experience the miracle of transformation.
